Sierra Schumann.

Meet Sierra Schumann from Encinitas California, founder and creator of Sloopy Clothing. Sloopy is a clothing brand that encompasses creativity through abstract shapes and faces, while also allowing for a collaborative approach with her customers. Sierra enjoys having a collaborative approach with her customer’s as it allows her to build off of other people's creativity and visions. She wants her clothing to be staple pieces that people can feel a unique connection to, as well as express themselves through a shared creative vision.

Having the pleasure of working with her, Sierra curated several pieces for The Kiind based off of a couple ideas within our own heads. She was able to make these pieces come to life, and came out better than we could have imagined. We will be releasing these limited pieces soon, thanks to Sierra’s creative input and ability to work off of our visions.
In her bio you can find both an Esty shop as well as a Depop Account. In addition to the clothing she has available, you can also make custom orders with her to bring your own clothing visions to life.
Make sure to follow @sloopyclothing and check out more of her work. Visit our page to read more, as well as the short interview we conducted with her.

Interview.

Could you quickly introduce yourself and where you're from?

Hi! My name is Sierra Schumann and I am from San Diego California (Encinitas specifically)

When did you first get into drawing or painting?

My freshman year of high school was really when I realized my love for painting, and then I began exploring drawing and all kinds of art after that.

What inspires your work/who?

I honestly don’t have any specific artist that directly inspires me, but rather I just let my mind wander and see what comes out of the brush. I think exploring new mediums and designs also always inspires the next piece, so I will go through phases where I build off a specific concept or design/style.

When did you start getting more serious with your art and clothing brand?

While COVID gave me the time to develop my art into a clothing brand and begin selling online, it did take full force as a legitimate business until my sophomore year of college (2022).

What has been your personal favorite project so far?

Custom pieces and collaborations are always my favorite because I love using my creativity to build off of someone’s vision (ie. having a starting point to work around).

Do you have any bigger projects in the future that you are currently planning/want to do?

Currently I am wanting to expand into making prints (posters, canvases, etc) of my art, and have been thinking about adding more color components to my clothing items such as experimenting with airbrush or dyeing the designs different colors!

If you could give one message about your brand, what would it be?

I want my brand to be something that people feel is unique and they can connect to, something they will share with friends and family and feel the ability to incorporate their own vision. Ultimately I hope my pieces become the favorite staple in people's closets, knowing their outfit is more than just a functional piece of clothing, but an expression of art and creativity.
